Retake: In November, voters must send a strong message that they reject the government takeover policies that have been pushed by this liberal Congress and elect genuine reformers who believe in the people and the constitution to the House of Representatives and the Senate.  The goal must be to retake the House, and put reform-minded conservatives in charge to stem the push toward expanding government even more.

Repeal: After winning Congress, the public must urge their elected Representatives to repeal this health care legislation.  Successful repeal almost certainly will require winning another election—the Presidential election of 2012—and putting someone in office who pledges to undo the damage and genuinely reform health care as his or her top priority.

Replace: It’s not enough just to repeal these new bad health care laws.  We need to make positive patient-centered reforms to the health care system so that it works better for all Americans.  This includes changing the tax treatment of health insurance to put those with individual insurance on a level playing field with those with employer-provided health care, allowing individuals to buy insurance across state lines, reforming medical malpractice laws to discourage defensive medicine, and enacting other provisions that will use market forces to expand access to health care, control costs, and encourage a more efficient, effective medical system.

Reclaim: We need to recommit the country to the ideals that made it the best nation in the history of Earth.  The United States is not a country united by geography or race:  it is a country based on an idea.  We must reclaim and recommit to the principles upon which we were founded:  that rights do not come from the government, but are inherent in individuals; that individuals should be free to self-govern and pursue their dreams and talents to the best of their ability; that all men are equal before the law; and that government is to have a limited role in protecting individual’s rights to life, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness—and to otherwise leave us to make our own best decisions.
